The deadline for mandatory vaccination certificates for Umrah pilgrims has been extended again.
Border Health Services has changed the implementation date for the third time. The new requirement will take effect from October 10.
The decision applies to Umrah pilgrims departing from Karachi Airport. They will need to carry a valid Digital vaccination card before departure.
Border Health Services has issued an official letter to Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). Travel agents and other relevant stakeholders have also been informed.
Under the updated policy, pilgrims travelling from Karachi must complete their vaccination requirements. These include polio, meningitis and influenza vaccinations.
Authorities have advised pilgrims to obtain their vaccination certificates before reaching the airport. Completing the process early can help prevent delays during travel.
Airlines and travel agencies have also been directed to inform Umrah passengers about the new requirement. They must provide timely information through the relevant authorities.
How to Obtain the Digital Vaccination Card
Travelers can apply for their vaccination certificate through the NIMS online portal. The process can be completed before travelling to the airport.
Applicants need to enter their CNIC number and date of issue. They can also use their passport details where applicable.
After entering the required information, applicants must provide their personal details. A security code must also be entered during the application process.
The certificate carries an online fee of Rs100. Applicants can pay through a debit or credit card.
JazzCash and Easypaisa are also available as payment options. The certificate can be downloaded after the payment is successfully confirmed.
The Digital vaccination card can then be saved electronically for travel. Travelers can also print a copy and keep it with their other documents.
The Health Department has advised international passengers to complete the process before arriving at the airport. Early preparation can reduce the chances of delays or missed flights.
Umrah pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia have been specifically advised to obtain their Nadra vaccination certificate. Airlines have also been instructed to check vaccination certificates before issuing boarding passes.
The updated deadline gives pilgrims additional time to complete the required process. However, passengers should arrange their certificates before departure to avoid complications.
