Lahore to Celebrate Double Basant in February and March 2026; Check Full Dates

LAHORE โ€“ Lahore is set to celebrate the return of Basant, and this time, the excitement will double. In 2026, the city will host not one, but two mega Basant festivals.

According to sources, authorities have finalized plans for a historic celebration. The first Basant will take place from February 6th to 8th, featuring traditional festivities, music, kite flying, and the vibrant energy that Lahore is known for. The second Basant is scheduled for March, serving as a grand encore to amplify the thrill and excitement across the city.

Unlike previous years, the festival will not be limited to five main locations. Instead, the entire Lahore skyline will be open for kite flying, turning the city into a colorful battleground of kites. Senior official Maryam Aurangzeb confirmed that high-level planning has been completed and approved for the double celebration.

Authorities have also established a legal framework for the event, ensuring safety and order. Kite and string sales will be restricted to designated areas under strict government regulations. This measure aims to prevent accidents and ensure that all activities follow safety protocols.

The return of Basant is expected to draw thousands of enthusiasts, locals, and tourists alike, eager to witness Lahoreโ€™s skies filled with vibrant kites. Event organizers have promised a mix of cultural performances, musical shows, and competitions to make the festival more exciting than ever.

Officials emphasized that safety will be a top priority. Emergency teams, traffic management, and security personnel will be deployed across the city to ensure smooth and safe celebrations.
