Pakistanโs security forces successfully intercepted several drones launched by the Afghan Taliban, according to the militaryโs media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations. Officials said the attempted drone strikes fail to achieve their intended targets after being neutralized through defensive measures.
The statement said the Afghan Taliban launched multiple rudimentary drones aimed at populated areas in Pakistan. However, the countryโs armed forces detected the threats and responded quickly using both soft and hard kill measures. These actions ensured that the drone strikes fail before reaching sensitive locations.
Despite the successful interception, falling debris caused injuries in several areas. Two children were reportedly injured in Quetta, while one civilian each was hurt in Kohat and Rawalpindi. Authorities confirmed that the injured individuals received medical treatment and are under care.
According to ISPR, these drone attempts appear designed to create fear among civilians and demonstrate what it described as a persistent terrorist mindset within the Afghan Taliban. Officials stated that while the group often presents itself as a victim to the international community, its actions continue to threaten innocent Pakistanis.
The military emphasized that Pakistanโs citizens and security forces remain aware of the Talibanโs intentions. Officials said the drone strikes fail to weaken the countryโs resolve or disrupt national security efforts.
Pakistanโs armed forces also reaffirmed their commitment to protecting the population against any external threats. The statement noted that defensive operations would continue to ensure safety and maintain stability across the country.
Officials further said that Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq will continue until the Afghan Taliban address Pakistanโs concerns about terrorist activities originating from Afghan territory. The operation is aimed at preventing cross-border threats and dismantling networks that support such attacks.
The armed forces stated they will remain vigilant and ready to respond to future provocations. Authorities stressed that Pakistan will not be intimidated by such tactics and will take all necessary steps to safeguard its citizens.
Security analysts believe the incident highlights the importance of strong defense systems and regional cooperation to prevent cross-border threats. Pakistanโs military leadership reiterated that protecting civilians remains its top priority as tensions continue in the region.
