Eidul Adha is expected to be celebrated in Pakistan on Saturday, June 7, as astronomical forecasts suggest the moon marking the start of Zilhaj will likely be sighted on May 28. Experts say lunar visibility conditions are favorable for the crescent to appear that evening.
Renowned astronomer Dr. Faheem Hashmi explained that the moon will be only 11 hours old at sunset on May 27, making it nearly impossible to be seen. However, by May 28, the moon will be over 35 hours old—well within the range for visibility across most parts of Pakistan.

Based on these calculations, the Islamic month of Zilhaj is expected to commence on May 29, placing Eidul Adha on the 10th day, June 7. The festival holds deep religious significance as it commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion and willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God.
The final decision on the moon sighting will rest with the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, which will make an official announcement after reviewing moon sighting reports from across the country.
