Eid ul Azha to Be Observed on June 7 in Pakistan as Zilhaj Moon Remains Unseen

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced on Wednesday that the Zilhaj moon was not sighted anywhere across Pakistan, and therefore, Eid ul Azha will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7, 2025.

Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad stated that no credible reports of moon sighting had been received from any region. As a result, the committee unanimously agreed to declare June 7 as the date for Eidul Azha.

This declaration came after a session of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee in Islamabad, chaired by Maulana Azad, to determine the beginning of Zilhaj 1446 Hijri. Simultaneously, zonal committees held meetings at their respective offices for the same purpose.

Eid ul Azha, observed on the 10th of Zilhaj, honors the tradition of sacrifice and coincides with the annual Hajj pilgrimage. Prior to this official announcement, the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) had also forecasted that Eid would likely be observed on June 7.
