Faisalabad Factory Blast Claims 13 Lives, Including Children and Women

A tragic factory blast in Faisalabadโ€™s Malikpur Chemical Factory area has claimed 13 lives and left the community in deep shock. The explosion, caused by a boiler inside a glue-making unit, resulted in severe damage to nearby houses and triggered a massive fire.

Rescue teams confirmed that the victims included children and women, making the incident even more heartbreaking for families living around the industrial site.

According to officials, the factory blast was powerful enough to shake the surrounding settlement. Several people were injured as debris fell across narrow residential lanes. The impact shattered windows, cracked walls, and scattered rubble across the neighbourhood. Rescue workers reported that at least 10 houses were damaged due to the force of the blast.

Teams rushing to the scene found the factory engulfed in flames. They immediately started firefighting operations, but the presence of chemicals made the task difficult.

A total of 15 fire tankers were deployed to control the blaze. A young girlโ€™s body was recovered from the rubble, adding to the list of victims that included four children and two women.

Deputy Commissioner Nadeem Nasir told the media that the factory had been operating for nearly 25 years. Over time, residential buildings expanded around the area, creating a tightly packed mix of homes and industrial units. He said there were almost 100 factories within this settlement, which raises serious concerns about industrial safety and monitoring.

Authorities have launched a search for the factory owner, with a team dispatched to arrest him. Initial findings suggest that the blast began in the boiler, but investigators will examine whether negligence or safety violations played a role. Officials emphasized that a full inquiry is underway to determine the exact cause of the disaster.
