FAISALABAD: Faisalabad city traffic police have issued new instructions for motorcycle owners regarding vehicle number plates.
The new guidance explains how motorcycle owners can obtain and display their number plates. It also outlines the required design, size, and material.
According to the traffic police, motorcycle riders will not have to pay a fee for number plates issued through the Excise Department. Owners can make their own plates instead.
However, the self-made plates must strictly follow the specifications approved by the Excise Department. This requirement aims to maintain uniformity and improve vehicle identification.
Approved Design for Motorcycle Number Plates
The police said motorcycle number plates must be made from white metal. The letters and numbers must be embossed in black.
The registration details must be clearly visible on the plate. Owners must also follow the officially approved dimensions.
For long number plates, the required size is 205 × 70 millimetres. The approved size for square plates is 200 × 170 millimetres.
Motorcycle owners have been advised to check their plates carefully. They should ensure the size and material meet the required standards.
The traffic police also warned riders against using non-standard plates. Plates that do not follow the approved design may create problems during traffic checks.
Police Urge Riders to Follow Standards
The latest guidance is intended to encourage compliance with traffic regulations. Properly displayed registration plates can also help authorities identify vehicles.
Motorcycle owners should therefore ensure their vehicles carry approved number plates at all times. They should avoid designs that differ from the Excise Department’s specifications.
The traffic police urged citizens to follow the instructions while preparing their plates. Riders were also reminded to observe other traffic rules.
