Fraud Alert: Religious Affairs Ministry Exposes Fake Hajj and Umrah Job Scam

Fraud Alert Religious Affairs Ministry Exposes Fake Hajj and Umrah Job Scam

KARACHI โ€“ The Religious Affairs Ministry has issued a warning about fraudulent advertisements claiming to offer dream jobs serving Hajj and Umrah pilgrims in Saudi Arabia. Authorities say scammers are using the name โ€œKhuddam al-Hujjajโ€ to lure unsuspecting citizens.

The fake ads promise lucrative positions in Makkah and Madinah, claiming to provide two-year service jobs assisting pilgrims. They also offer free visas, return tickets, and accommodation. However, the Religious Affairs Ministry confirmed that these offers are completely fake and originate from a bogus company using a false registration number from the Bureau of Immigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE).

Officials from the Religious Affairs Ministry urged the public to exercise extreme caution. People are advised to verify all company registration details on official government websites before responding to such ads. The ministry also recommended using only official landline numbers for correspondence and avoiding contact with mobile numbers listed in the fraudulent advertisements.

The ministry emphasized that anyone encountering these scams should immediately report them to local law enforcement. Authorities have confirmed that investigations are already underway against those responsible for publishing and circulating the fake advertisements.

The warning comes as part of ongoing efforts by the Religious Affairs Ministry to protect pilgrims and ensure that all Hajj and Umrah services are legitimate and safe. The ministry continues to remind citizens that official announcements and recruitment opportunities are only shared through verified channels and official websites.
