Father Shot Dead in Front of Children During Robbery Attempt in Karachi

KARACHI – A tragic incident occurred in Orangi Town’s Nishan-e-Haider area where a young father was shot dead in front of his children.

The victim, Muhammad Sajjad, aged 25, had traveled from Faisalabad to Karachi just three days earlier to visit his in-laws. He was the father of two small children.

According to the FIR filed at Iqbal Market Police Station, two armed men tried to snatch Sajjad’s mobile phone at his doorstep. When he resisted, one of the robbers opened fire. He was shot dead on the spot after receiving a bullet in his chest.

CCTV footage of the attack shows Sajjad standing at the entrance of the house with his children. One child was in his arms while the other stood beside him. Two men arrived on a motorcycle, approached him, and fired at point-blank range. Sajjad collapsed instantly, while one of his children ran inside the house in panic.

Police confirmed that the attacker’s face was clearly visible in the footage. Teams have been deployed to track down and arrest the suspects involved.

Relatives have shifted Sajjad’s body to Faisalabad for burial.

The incident has once again highlighted the rising street crimes in Karachi. Reports suggest that more than 65 people have been shot dead in the city this year while resisting robberies.

The tragic killing has sparked fear among residents and renewed calls for stronger law enforcement measures to curb armed robberies and protect citizens.
