Former PTI Minister Fawad Chaudhry Criticizes Party Leadership and Calls for Founder’s Family to Lead

ISLAMABAD: Former PTI minister Fawad Chaudhry has criticized the party’s current leadership, claiming that PTI has outsourced its decision-making to former opponents.

Chaudhry said the current leaders “don’t know what to do” and stressed that the family of PTI founder should take charge of guiding the party.

He highlighted the upcoming proposed meeting between opposition leader Mehmood Achakzai and the Prime Minister. Chaudhry said he doubts the meeting will benefit PTI at this stage.

“In my opinion, a meeting of Mehmood Achakzai with the PTI founder will not be beneficial now,” he said. “What Achakzai will say in the meeting, he must have something in his hand,” Chaudhry added.

He suggested that Achakzai should first meet the Prime Minister before approaching the PTI founder. According to him, this sequence would be more effective.

Chaudhry also commented on recent political unrest. He mentioned a “big theft” on February 8 and noted that only a token protest was held yesterday in response.

“Currently, the PTI doesn’t have any leadership,” Chaudhry said. He emphasized that protests and dialogue should proceed side by side.

He further called for unity within the party, stating that efforts must be made to reduce divisions. “We must try to bring the division down,” he said.

Chaudhry’s remarks reflect growing concerns within PTI about the party’s direction and decision-making processes. His call for stronger leadership by the founder’s family signals ongoing debates over PTI’s future strategy.

Analysts note that the party faces internal challenges and public scrutiny. Chaudhry’s comments may influence discussions around leadership and political coordination within PTI.
