Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced plans to implement a video surveillance system to monitor cotton bales and curb smuggling or underreporting.
Officials stated that the system will help track production, storage, and movement of cotton across warehouses and ginning factories. The move aims to increase transparency, reduce tax evasion, and ensure that all cotton transactions are properly documented.
FBR emphasized that the technology-driven approach will streamline inspections, enhance regulatory compliance, and support the countryโs textile sector by preventing illegal practices.
