LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a suspected agent linked to fake visas and forged visa stickers in Lahore.
The arrest was made by the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Lahore. Officials said the suspect was allegedly involved in preparing and using counterfeit travel documents.
The agency identified the suspect as Muhammad Ajmal Iqbal. Officials recovered a large number of passports and forged documents from his possession.
According to the FIA, authorities seized 305 Pakistani passports during the operation. Fake visa stickers from several countries were also recovered.
Officials also found around 100 fake cards and other forged documents. The recovered material is being examined as part of the investigation.
FIA Links Suspect to Earlier Case
The FIA said Muhammad Ajmal Iqbal was already wanted in connection with another case. The earlier case was registered by the agency in Lahore in 2020.
The latest arrest follows action against suspected document fraud and visa-related offences. Such activities can facilitate illegal travel and human trafficking.
The FIA has registered a new case against the suspect. The case was filed under FIR No. 1001/2026.
The FIR was registered at the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Lahore. It includes several sections of relevant laws.
These include Sections 18 and 22 of the Emigration Ordinance, 1979. The case also includes Sections 420, 468, 471 and 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Section 6 of the Passport Act, 1974 has also been included in the case.
Investigation Underway
The FIA said its investigation into the case is continuing. Investigators are examining the recovered passports, visa stickers, cards, and other documents.
Authorities are also expected to determine whether other individuals were involved. The investigation may help establish the wider network behind the alleged document fraud.
The agency has not provided further details about the suspect’s alleged activities. Further findings will depend on the ongoing investigation.
The arrest highlights continued action against the use of fake travel documents. The FIA regularly investigates cases involving immigration fraud and human trafficking.
