Anchor Orya Maqbool Jan was apprehended by the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cybercrime Wing in Lahore on Thursday, as reported by News.

His lawyer, Azhar Siddique, stated that Jan’s arrest relates to social media posts concerning the Mubarak Sani case. Jan is currently being held at the FIA Cybercrime office in Gulberg, Lahore.

Siddique mentioned that they have not received details about the First Information Report (FIR) and argued that the FIA may not have jurisdiction in this case. He added that they will challenge the charges vigorously.

Jan is set to appear before a judicial magistrate later today.
