The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has taken strict action against corrupt and negligent officers. FIA dismisses six officials following internal departmental inquiries, continuing its accountability drive.
According to the Directorate of Internal Accountability, the dismissals include Inspector Maria Niaz, who was removed for illegally occupying a government residence and remaining absent from duty. Sub-Inspector Kashif Riaz Awan was dismissed for providing protection to a gang involved in illegal organ trafficking.
Additionally, Sub-Inspectors Tasaddaq Hussain and Ahmad Waqar were removed for conducting illegal raids and faulty investigations. Constable Asifullah Dutta faced dismissal on charges of illegal raids and extortion. Technical Assistant Inayatullah was also dismissed for negligence and involvement in illegal immigration clearance.
Apart from these dismissals, FIA dismisses several officersโ misconduct through demotions and withheld promotions. Inspector Muhammad Arsalan Masood Khan and Inspector Idrees Khan were demoted in their pay scale for demanding bribes during inquiries. Sub-Inspector Sohail Ahmad had his promotion withheld for one year due to negligence in official duties.
The agency also penalized several others with withheld increments for illegal immigration clearance. Sub-Inspectors Shazma Shabbir, Shabana Shamsheer, Umar Farooq, and ASI Farhan Israr faced two-year withholding of increments, while Constables Muhammad Shakir, Muhammad Asif, Muhammad Zahid Iqbal, Mudassir Saeed, and Adeel Ahmad received one-year penalties. Technical Assistant Ghulam Khan was issued a warning for failing to comply with official orders.
The FIA spokesperson stated that FIA dismisses and disciplinary actions are part of efforts to maintain transparency, integrity, and professional standards. Citizens are encouraged to report any complaints against FIA officials via the helpline 051-111-345-786 or by email at complaints@fia.gov.pk.
