FIR Filed Against School Principal After Kids Dance to Bollywood Song

An FIR has been registered against the principal of a private school in Sialkot after a video of kids dance at a school event went viral on social media.

The video, recorded during a fun fair at a private school in Chobara, showed students performing a kids dance to the Bollywood song Lehnga by Diljit Dosanjh. The song contains lyrics referencing alcohol and adult themes.

Following public criticism, Sabz Pir Police Station registered a case against the school principal for negligence. Authorities said allowing the song and encouraging students to dance to it was inappropriate for an educational setting.

Officials clarified that the kids dance itself should not be blamed. The children were responding to the rhythm and enjoyment of the music, rather than the meaning of the lyrics. Expecting minors to understand or analyze adult content was unreasonable.

Responsibility, police stated, lies with the school administration. Principals and staff are expected to ensure that all activities and entertainment are age-appropriate and suitable for students.

The case has sparked debate online and among parents about school oversight and content selection for student events. Many social media users supported the idea that children should be free to enjoy music and dance, while others emphasized the need for stricter guidelines in schools.

School officials have yet to issue a formal statement regarding the FIR. Authorities continue to review the matter, urging all educational institutions to carefully monitor content used in student activities to avoid similar incidents in the future.
