KARACHI: A fire broke out at the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) head office on Tuesday. The blaze destroyed the office of Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab.
According to the fire department, the fire started in a kitchen near the Mayor’s office. Firefighters quickly reached the KMC head office after receiving information about the incident.
The emergency teams worked to control the flames and prevent the fire from spreading. Firefighters eventually brought the blaze under control.
The fire department later confirmed that the fire had been completely extinguished. Authorities have not immediately reported any casualties from the incident.
The cause of the fire has not been disclosed so far. Officials may conduct an inquiry to determine how the blaze started.
The incident occurred one day after another major fire in Karachi. That fire broke out at an old-clothes factory in the Landhi Export Processing Zone (EPZ).
