KARACHI — Foreign veterinary experts have arrived in Karachi to examine two elephants at Safari Park. Madhubala and Malika are receiving medical care and specialized attention. Officials said both elephants are being monitored closely at the facility. Their treatment focuses on medical care, nutrition and overall well-being.

A team of Sri Lankan veterinary specialists has arrived in Karachi. The team is led by Dr. Badika and Dr. Amir Khalil. Experts from FOUR PAWS are also supporting the veterinary team. FOUR PAWS is an international organization focused on animal welfare.

The foreign specialists will jointly examine Madhubala and Malika. They will assess the health of both elephants through several medical procedures. The experts are expected to collect blood samples from the elephants. They will also conduct additional tests to understand their current health conditions.

The medical examination will include X-rays. These tests will help experts identify possible bone and other health-related problems. Officials said special attention is being given to Madhubala’s condition. Foreign experts were brought in specifically to assess her health and support her treatment.

Madhubala has faced immune system and bone-related problems, according to officials. The issues developed following her treatment for tuberculosis. Madhubala was moved to Safari Park around two years ago. She was transferred after the death of another elephant, Noor Jehan, at Karachi Zoo.

Noor Jehan died at the zoo after suffering serious health problems. Madhubala was later shifted to Safari Park for continued care. On September 14, Madhubala collapsed while standing at the Safari Park. Staff members used a crane to lift her after the incident.

The latest medical assessment is intended to provide a clearer picture of her condition. Specialists will use the test results to guide further treatment. Malika will also undergo a detailed examination during the experts’ visit. Her health will be assessed through blood tests and other medical procedures.

Officials said all necessary steps are being taken to support both elephants. Their treatment plans will focus on improving their health and overall recovery. The arrival of foreign specialists has added specialized veterinary support in Karachi. Their expertise is expected to assist local teams caring for the elephants. Authorities said the health and welfare of Madhubala and Malika remain a priority. Medical teams will continue monitoring both elephants during their recovery.
