Former Punjab Land Records Authority DG Dismissed Over Sexual Harassment Allegations

The Punjab Ombudsperson has ordered the termination of Moazzam Supra, former Director General of the Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA), following allegations of workplace sexual harassment.

The complaint was filed by Fareeha Aram, a former Assistant Director Land Records, who accused Supra of repeated inappropriate behavior during her time at the authority. An official investigation by the Ombudsperson found her allegations credible and well-supported by evidence.

The inquiry revealed that Supra retaliated against Fareeha Aram for refusing his improper demands, subjecting her to prolonged harassment, intimidation, and unlawful confinement. She was reportedly called to private offices under false pretenses and faced ongoing degrading treatment, which violated workplace ethics and harassment laws.

The Ombudsperson directed the relevant authorities to promptly implement Supra’s dismissal. This case has raised significant concerns about abuse of power in public institutions and is seen as a landmark step toward enforcing anti-harassment regulations in Punjab.
