Sindh’s popular tourist spot, Gorakh Hill Station, received its first snowfall of the winter season, bringing a dramatic drop in temperatures. The snow turned the hill station into a picturesque landscape, attracting visitors and photographers.
Located in the Kirthar mountain range of Dadu district along the Sindh–Balochistan border, Gorakh Hill Station is the only high-altitude recreational destination in Sindh. It is also considered the coldest and most scenic spot in the region.
After the first snowfall, temperatures at Gorakh dropped to minus 2 degrees Celsius. The snowfall creates an unusual winter scenery in Sindh, where snow rarely falls. Residents and tourists welcomed the snow with excitement.
Gorakh Hill Station sits at an elevation of 1,734 meters above sea level. The station spreads across 2,500 acres of land on one of Sindh’s highest plateaus. Its natural surroundings make it a unique adventure and nature spot for tourists.
Despite being underdeveloped, Gorakh attracts many visitors from Karachi and other cities. The hill station is about 423 km from Karachi, making it a popular weekend getaway for nature lovers seeking cold weather and snow-covered landscapes.
Officials said that the first snowfall this winter is likely to encourage more tourists to visit Gorakh. They also urged visitors to take precautions due to low temperatures and slippery roads.
Tourists shared photos of the snow-covered hills on social media, praising Gorakh for its beauty. Local authorities are planning to improve facilities to accommodate the growing number of visitors during the winter season.
Gorakh Hill Station remains one of Sindh’s most unique destinations. Its combination of snow, cold climate, and high-altitude scenery offers a rare winter experience for tourists in the province.
