RAWALPINDI – Former Lahore High Court Justice Hassan Raza Pasha narrowly escaped harm after unknown assailants opened fire at his office in Rawalpindi. The attack took place while the office was closed, preventing any casualties.
According to police reports, the attackers first targeted the office and then fired shots into the air from the main road. A heavy police contingent and lawyers rushed to the scene after the incident.
Speaking about the attack, Hassan Raza Pasha stated, “I just arrived in Istanbul and was informed that my office came under fire. Four bullets hit the very seat where I usually sit.” He emphasized that he was unharmed.
City Police Officer Syed Khalid Hamdani took immediate notice of the incident. Following this, SSP Investigation Raza Tanveer Supra visited the site to oversee investigations. The SSP inspected the crime scene and instructed SP Potohar and the SHO of Chaklala to collect evidence and secure the area.
Authorities have formed special teams to gather technical clues and trace the attackers. Legal proceedings are now underway, and police have assured the public that the culprits will be apprehended and prosecuted.
This attack on Hassan Raza Pasha has raised concerns about the security of former judicial officials in the region. Lawyers and civil society members condemned the act, calling for stricter security measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
