The Ministry of Religious Affairs has reported a strong response to the registration process for Hajj 2027, with more than 51,000 people completing their registration within the first two days.
According to the ministry, thousands of aspiring pilgrims used both digital platforms and mobile services to secure their registration. Officials described the early response as highly encouraging and a sign of strong public interest in the upcoming Hajj season.
A ministry spokesperson said around 46,000 applicants completed their registration through the official online portal. Another 5,000 people registered through the Pak Hajj mobile application from their homes.
The figures show that a majority of applicants selected the government Hajj scheme. According to the available data, approximately 41,000 people opted for the government programme, while around 10,000 registered under the private scheme.
Punjab recorded the highest number of registrations. Around 24,000 applicants came from the province. Sindh followed with 16,000 registrations, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa contributed around 7,000 applicants. Islamabad recorded nearly 3,000 registrations during the initial phase.
Other regions also showed participation in the registration campaign. According to the ministry, around 800 applicants registered from Balochistan. Azad Jammu and Kashmir recorded 260 registrations, while 77 people from Gilgit-Baltistan completed the process.
The ministry also shared demographic details of the applicants. Of the total registrations, around 30,000 were men and 21,000 were women. The highest participation was recorded among individuals between the ages of 30 and 48 years.
Officials said the Hajj registration process is being modernized through digital technology. The ministry is working with the National Information Technology Board to transform Hajj operations into a fully paperless and end-to-end digital system.
Authorities believe the digital system will improve transparency, efficiency, and convenience for pilgrims. The initiative is expected to simplify registration and provide better services throughout the Hajj journey.
The ministry emphasized that the mandatory registration campaign for Hajj 2027 will continue without interruption. Officials advised intending pilgrims to complete their registration within the designated timeframe to avoid difficulties in later stages.
Details regarding Hajj expenses, travel packages, accommodation arrangements, and other operational matters will be announced separately during the next phase of preparations.
Officials say the overwhelming response reflects the continued interest of Pakistanis in performing Hajj. The ministry remains focused on improving services and making the pilgrimage process easier through modern technology and streamlined procedures.
