The Director-General of Passports, Mustafa Jamal Qazi, has announced the introduction of special counters for Hajj pilgrims at passport offices nationwide, ensuring that passports are issued within 24 hours. These counters will prioritize Hajj applicants and be available at regional offices and worldwide passport offices.
In a bid to reduce costs for Hajj 2025, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has secured a reduction in airfare, lowering the cost of flights by $50 per Haji. The new airfare will be $800 for each of the 35,000 pilgrims, a reduction from $850 in 2024. This deal, negotiated with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), also includes Saudi Airlines, which will carry an additional 35,000 pilgrims.

The Hajj 2025 application process has officially started today, with applications being accepted until December 3 at 15 nominated banks. The Government Hajj Scheme will allocate 89,605 quotas. Applicants must submit Rs 200,000 as part of their initial application. The remainder of the Hajj fees will be collected in two installments, with the final balance due between February 1st and 10th, 2025. The scheme covers air tickets, food, accommodation, training, and necessary vaccinations.
