ISLAMABAD, August 29, 2026: The federal Ministry of Health has ordered detailed fire safety audits at government hospitals. The move follows concerns over fire safety arrangements at healthcare facilities.
The Health orders cover hospitals operating under the ministry’s administration. Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) is among the hospitals included in the directive.
Authorities will review existing fire safety measures at the hospitals. The inspection will cover several important safety systems and arrangements.

Hospitals must also review their emergency and exit routes. These routes must remain available for use during emergencies.
