The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has announced a planned power shutdown. The outage will take place on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
The approved shutdown will run from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The power interruption will affect several 11kV feeders in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
According to IESCO, the shutdown is required for shifting 11kV power lines. The work is linked to widening projects on major roads in Islamabad.
The line shifting will support widening of the main service road. The affected routes include the area from Faizabad to Gulberg Green. Work will also take place near Khawaja Corporation Chowk.
Several feeders in the Islamabad Operation Circle will be affected. These include Punjab House, Bari Imam and Pir Sohawa feeders. Saidpur, Service Road and Sohan feeders are also included.
The Highway feeder will also remain affected during the scheduled shutdown. Zia Masjid and Iqbal Town feeders are among the other affected areas.
Residents and businesses supplied through these feeders may experience a temporary electricity outage. Consumers have been advised to plan their activities accordingly.
The Rawalpindi City Operation Circle will also experience an interruption. The Fazaia feeder has been included in the scheduled shutdown.
Several feeders under the Rawalpindi Cantt Operation Circle are also affected. These include Kalyal, Shahpur, Adyala and Khasala feeders.
The affected list also includes Hamyou-I and Dk Noor feeders. Gulshan Abad, Rose Lane and Adyala Jail feeders are also included.
Shaigon and Defence Road feeders will also face the planned interruption. Askari-14, PGHS and Samar Zar feeders are among the affected feeders.
IESCO said the shutdown has been approved to facilitate essential infrastructure work. The company has requested consumers to cooperate during the maintenance activity.
The planned work is part of ongoing road development and power infrastructure adjustments. Shifting electricity lines is required where road expansion affects existing power infrastructure.
Consumers in the affected areas may face inconvenience during the four-hour shutdown. They have been advised to make necessary arrangements before the power interruption begins.
IESCO also expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to consumers. The company requested public cooperation and understanding during the scheduled work.
The power supply is expected to resume after completion of the planned activity. However, restoration timing may depend on the progress of field work.
Consumers in Islamabad and Rawalpindi should remain aware of the affected feeders. They can plan electricity-dependent activities outside the announced shutdown hours.
