A medical report on PTI founder Imran Khan’ eye health has been released, covering an examination conducted on February 15, 2026. The findings were obtained by 24NewsHD TV Channel.
The assessment took place at Adiala Jail and was later shared with party leaders Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Raja Nasir Abbas at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) between 9:00 pm and 10:20 pm.
The report was prepared by Prof. Nadeem Qureshi, head of retina at Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital, and signed by Prof. Arif Khan, head of ophthalmology at PIMS. Doctors noted that Imran Khan’ right eye showed partial visual acuity of 6/24, while the left eye measured 6/9 without corrective lenses. With lenses, vision improved to 6/9 in the right eye and 6/6 in the left.
Slit-lamp examination revealed clear anterior segments and corneas in both eyes. The vitreous was mostly clear, with mild haze and minor internal spots observed. Redness and dilated vessels were present in the right eye, along with four to five cotton-wool spots. Swelling has started to subside, and vision in the affected eye has improved from 6/36 to 6/9, which doctors described as encouraging.
The report recommends the continued use of prescribed eye drops, including Nevanac, Cosopt, and Systane Ultra, alongside ongoing treatment.
Imran Khan’ personal physicians, Dr. Asim Yusuf and Dr. Khurram Mirza, were briefed by phone for over 25 minutes. Party leaders and doctors expressed satisfaction and confidence in the treatment plan.
Overall, the findings suggest that Imran Khan’ eye condition is stabilizing and responding well to treatment. Experts stressed the importance of continuing prescribed medications and regular follow-ups.
