Imran Khan has described the arrest of Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hamid as an internal military matter, distancing his party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), from it. Following a meeting with his legal team at Adiala Jail, Khan stated that PTI has no political ties to General Faiz and suggested that his removal was part of a deal between former Chief of Army Staff General Bajwa and ex-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Khan’s lawyer, Intizar Panjotha, revealed that Khan called for a peaceful demonstration and urged citizens to support freedom, comparing the situation in Pakistan unfavorably to Bangladesh.

Khan also criticized the pressure on the Supreme Court and voiced concerns about the diminishing hopes of the youth. He proposed forming a judicial commission to investigate the May 9 events and release relevant CCTV footage if General Faiz’s arrest is related to those incidents.
The arrest and court-martial of General Faiz have generated significant political debate, with Khan’s comments highlighting the ongoing friction between PTI and the military establishment.
