RAWALPINDI: As many as 81 government schools recorded a zero per cent pass rate in Class 9 examinations conducted by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi.
The disappointing results have raised concerns about academic performance in several government schools across the region. The data covers schools whose students appeared in the Class 9 examinations.
According to the report, 184 schools recorded a zero per cent pass rate in the examinations. Government schools accounted for 81 of these institutions.
Among government schools with no successful candidates, Rawalpindi district recorded the highest number. Attock stood second, followed by Chakwal.
The results have prompted authorities to consider action against school heads. Officials have decided to initiate proceedings against heads of government schools with a zero per cent result.
The move aims to examine the reasons behind the poor academic performance. It may also help identify weaknesses in teaching and student preparation.
