Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said on Friday that Imran Khan’s medical report has been shared with his family. The statement came after concerns were raised about the health of the jailed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder.
Tarar said the report was prepared by the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). The executive director of PIMS sent the report to the superintendent of Adiala Jail. From there, it was handed over to the family, he added.
According to the minister, the process was completed through official channels. He shared the update in a post on X. Tarar said the government followed proper procedures in the matter.
He explained that the issue was raised through formal requests. The Leader of the Opposition had written a letter to the prime minister. PTI leaders had also approached the Supreme Court regarding a medical checkup for Imran Khan.
Tarar said Imran Khan is currently serving his sentences in Central Jail Rawalpindi, also known as Adiala Jail. He noted that the government ensured the medical report was provided after the requests were received.
The minister did not share details about the contents of the medical report. However, he stressed that the report had been delivered to the family as requested. He said the government is following legal and administrative procedures in the case.
The update comes amid ongoing political tension and public interest in Imran Khan’s health and legal matters. His supporters have repeatedly called for transparency about his medical condition.
