Interim Bail of YouTubers Extended by Lahore Sessions Court Amid Cyber Crime Probe

The Lahore Sessions Court has extended the interim bail of YouTubers Rajab Butt and TikTok star Nadeem Naniwala until January 26. The decision comes amid ongoing investigations by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).

Both social media personalities appeared in court under heavy security. The hearing was presided over by Additional Sessions Judge Mansoor Ahmed Qureshi. During the proceedings, the interim bail applications of Rajab Butt and Nadeem Naniwala were reviewed.

The NCCIA lawyer informed the court that the investigating officer is currently involved in proceedings at the High Court. Due to this, the agency requested additional time to submit the investigation records related to the case.

The court accepted the request and allowed the interim bail of YouTubers to continue temporarily. This means both Rajab Butt and Nadeem Naniwala will remain out of custody until the next hearing.

Earlier, social media reports highlighted an attack on Rajab Butt in Karachi. Lawyers reportedly assaulted him, leaving him severely injured. The incident had raised concerns about the safety of digital content creators in Pakistan.

The ongoing investigation by NCCIA involves monitoring online activities of both individuals. Authorities are examining complaints related to digital content and alleged violations of cyber laws. The probe aims to gather all necessary evidence before moving forward with formal charges.

Sources said that both YouTubers have cooperated with investigators. Legal representatives assured the court that Rajab Butt and Nadeem Naniwala will comply with all court orders during the investigation.

The extension of interim bail of YouTubers highlights the courtโ€™s decision to balance legal procedures with personal safety concerns. Lawyers and law enforcement agencies are continuing to coordinate to ensure fair and timely progress in the case.

The next hearing is scheduled after January 26, when the NCCIA is expected to present detailed investigation records. Authorities said they are committed to completing the cyber crime investigation according to the law while ensuring the safety of the accused.
