Internet Services have been fully restored across Islamabad and Rawalpindi after an optical fiber fault was repaired.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority confirmed that the technical issue had been resolved.
According to the PTA, the fault occurred in the optical fiber network of a telecom operator. The problem had affected mobile data and Wi-Fi connectivity in parts of the twin cities.
Some users experienced slow speeds or temporary service interruptions during the disruption. Technical teams were assigned to locate and repair the fault.
Earlier, the PTA said work was underway to restore normal connectivity as quickly as possible.
After the repair was completed, Internet Services returned to normal in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
The authority said the affected network was now fully operational. The restoration brought an end to the short disruption reported in several areas.
Residents had earlier complained about difficulties using mobile data and broadband connections.
The issue also caused concern because it happened during a period of increased security attention in the twin cities.
A protest had previously been announced for Sunday, which led to a brief security situation. However, the planned protests were later delayed.
The PTA’s statement indicates that the connectivity problem was linked to a technical optical fiber fault.
