Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar paid his respects and offered prayers at Roza-e-Rasool (Peace Be Upon Him) in Madinah Munawarrah on Sunday during a brief stop in Saudi Arabia.
According to the Foreign Office, Ishaq Dar visited the holy site and spent time in prayer while passing through Madinah on his return journey to Pakistan. The visit came after his participation in an international ministerial meeting held in Egypt.
Officials said that upon his arrival in Madinah, he was welcomed by senior representatives of the Saudi government. Pakistan’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia was also present to receive him and accompany him during the visit.
The Foreign Office stated that the deputy prime minister reached Madinah while traveling from Cairo to Islamabad. He had attended the R-4 Ministerial Meeting in the Egyptian capital, where regional and international matters were discussed among participating countries.
During his stay in Madinah, Ishaq Dar paid homage at Roza-e-Rasool (PBUH), one of the most revered sites in Islam. The visit reflected the spiritual importance of the holy city for Muslims from around the world who travel there for prayers and religious reflection.
Madinah holds a special place in the hearts of Muslims because it is home to Masjid-e-Nabawi and the resting place of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). Many Muslim leaders and dignitaries visit the city during official or personal trips to Saudi Arabia.
The deputy prime minister’s visit took place shortly before his scheduled departure for Pakistan. Following the completion of his engagements abroad, he is expected to return to Islamabad later today.
The Foreign Office did not provide further details regarding additional meetings or official activities during the stopover. However, officials confirmed that the visit was part of his travel route after concluding his participation in the ministerial gathering in Cairo.
