Islamabad International Airport Launches Digital Lost and Found System

Islamabad International Airport Launches Digital Lost and Found System

Islamabad International Airport has launched a new digital Lost and Found system to improve passenger convenience and modernize airport operations. The new service was introduced by the Pakistan Airports Authority as part of its ongoing digital transformation efforts.

According to the Pakistan Airports Authority, the fully digital system was developed by the airportโ€™s in-house IT team. The platform allows passengers to report lost items online and track their recovery status through a digital portal.

Officials said the new Airport service aims to make the process more transparent and efficient. Travelers no longer need to depend on manual procedures to check updates about their belongings. Instead, they can monitor their cases online from anywhere.

The authority stated that the digital Lost and Found system will help reduce delays and improve communication between passengers and Airport staff. The move is also expected to simplify item recovery procedures for both domestic and international travelers.

The latest development is part of broader technology-based upgrades at Islamabad International Airport. Earlier this year, the Airport became Pakistanโ€™s first fully cashless airport. The initiative was introduced to improve operational efficiency and provide a smoother travel experience.

Under the cashless system, all payments inside the Airport shifted to digital methods. These include airline ticketing, parking fees, food courts, retail outlets, and duty-free stores.

Passengers can now use digital wallets, QR codes, mobile banking apps, debit cards, and credit cards for transactions. Airport authorities previously said the transition would improve transparency and reduce reliance on cash handling.
