ISLAMABAD – The federal government has officially announced spring holidays for its educational institutions. Schools and colleges under federal administration will remain closed from March 24 to March 27.
Classes are scheduled to resume on March 30. Authorities said the spring holidays have been planned to align with the upcoming Eidul Fitr celebrations, giving students an extended break.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported that the Shawwal crescent is unlikely to be sighted on March 19. This means Eid ul-Fitr is expected to be observed on March 21 across the country. Meteorologists also noted a possibility of moon sighting on March 20, which could confirm the festival date, subject to the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee’s official announcement.
If the crescent is not visible on March 19, Ramadan will complete its full 30-day cycle this year. PMD officials said their predictions continue a record of accurate forecasts, including the start of Ramadan.
During the spring holidays, schools and colleges will remain closed, and students are encouraged to rest and spend time with family. The government has coordinated these holidays to ensure minimal disruption to academic schedules while allowing students to enjoy the festive season.
Parents and guardians are advised to plan accordingly, as the combination of spring holidays and Eid celebrations creates an extended break for students. Authorities also reminded educational institutions to prepare for the resumption of classes on March 30.
