Train services in Balochistan have resumed after a 16-day suspension following a terrorist attack on the Jaffar Express. The train, departing from Peshawar Cantt Railway Station, marks a crucial step towards restoring normalcy. Federal Minister Amir Muqam was present to send off the passengers, offering prayers for their safe journey.
The Jaffar Express, which carries 280 passengers, including 28 traveling from Peshawar to Quetta, is expected to complete its 34-hour journey, arriving in Quetta by 5 PM the following day. The train, adorned with national flags and vibrant banners, connects all four provinces of Pakistan, traveling through Punjab and Sindh before reaching Balochistan.

Minister Muqam, during the departure, emphasized Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s commitment to resuming this vital service, symbolizing progress in Pakistan and Balochistan. He reaffirmed the government’s stance against terrorism, stating that efforts to destabilize the region would not succeed.
Railway authorities in Quetta have also planned the repair of damaged locomotives, while additional services, including a special Eid train, are set to enhance connectivity in Balochistan.
