Justice KK Agha was sworn in on Monday as a judge of the newly formed Constitutional Court, marking another key step in the operational rollout of the judicial reforms introduced under the 27th Constitutional Amendment.
The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Sindh High Court, where Chief Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi administered the oath. Senior judges, lawyers, and court officials attended the event.
Justice Aghaโs appointment comes as the government moves to establish the Constitutional Court as a separate forum for interpreting constitutional matters, reducing the load on the Supreme Court and speeding up decisions on important legal questions.
With extensive experience in constitutional law and previous service as a judge of the Sindh High Court, Justice Agha is expected to play a significant role in shaping the courtโs early jurisprudence.
Following his oath, legal experts noted that the functioning of the Constitutional Court will be closely watched, as it is expected to handle sensitive and high-impact cases under the new judicial structure.
