KARACHI: Police have obtained the criminal records of two suspects arrested after the Karachi airport attack. The incident left one policeman martyred and another injured.

Police sources identified the arrested suspects as Azeemullah and Tahir. Azeemullah was arrested without sustaining injuries during the operation.

According to police sources, several cases are registered against Azeemullah. These cases include police encounters, attempted murder and robbery.

Tahir, the second arrested suspect, also has multiple cases registered against him. Police are investigating their previous criminal activities.

Meanwhile, police are searching for a third suspect named Qaiser. He reportedly escaped from the scene in a rickshaw.

Police have formed teams to trace and arrest Qaiser. Investigators have identified him as the main suspect in the incident.

According to initial findings, the suspects were allegedly travelling on a motorcycle and a rickshaw. Police said they were preparing to carry out a robbery.

The suspects reportedly stopped on a road near Karachi Airport. They were allegedly using Google Maps to find their intended destination.

Police sources said Qaiser was sitting inside the rickshaw. He allegedly concealed a pistol inside the vehicle.

Patrolling police officers approached the suspects during routine checking. The officers questioned them and began checking their movements.

According to police, the situation escalated during the checking process. Qaiser allegedly pulled out a pistol and opened fire.

One policeman was martyred during the firing. Another officer sustained injuries in the incident.

Police sources said Tahir was riding the motorcycle at the time. He allegedly picked up the injured officer’s pistol before fleeing.

Tahir reportedly escaped along with Azeemullah. The two suspects later reached Rashid Minhas Road.

Police stopped them after finding their movements suspicious. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Gulshan police station.

According to investigators, Tahir allegedly opened fire again. A third police officer was injured during the exchange.

Police officers pursued the suspects and continued the operation. Azeemullah and Tahir were eventually arrested in Joharabad.

Investigators are now examining the suspects’ criminal backgrounds. Police are also continuing efforts to locate Qaiser.

Police sources said the suspects had allegedly planned to rob a shop. The targeted location was reportedly near Al-Asif Square in Sohrab Goth.

Investigators also uncovered an alleged method used by the group. They reportedly hid the pistol inside the rickshaw before robberies.

This method allegedly helped motorcycle riders pass police checkpoints. Police are continuing their investigation into the Karachi airport attack.
