Airspace Restrictions announced for Karachi routes on April 28 and 29

KARACHI: Several important air routes in Karachi’s airspace will remain temporarily closed after the Pakistan Airports Authority issued a new Notice to Airmen (NOTAM).

According to the advisory, these Restrictions will remain in place on April 28 and April 29. The affected timings are from 7:00 am to 10:30 am on both days.

Officials said the temporary Restrictions apply from ground level to all flight altitudes. Certain air corridors have been closed due to operational reasons.

One of the affected routes includes the corridor linking Karachi with Nawabshah. This route is commonly used by airlines operating in the region.

Several airspace sectors are also impacted. These include routes between Dosti and Karachi, along with major aviation corridors such as Milom, Tapdo, Bewin, and Banor.

Authorities also suspended routes from Ormio in different directions. The Pexor to Banor corridor has also been included in the latest Restrictions.

To reduce disruption, airlines and pilots have been instructed to use alternative routes. Aviation authorities have arranged both one-way and two-way corridors for smoother flight operations.

Alternative routes from Karachi to Dodu and Nawabshah are available. Additional route options through PG to IDIBA, Nawabshah, and Telem have also been provided.

The Pakistan Airports Authority has advised airlines to carefully review flight plans before departure. Officials said airlines should remain alert to avoid operational issues.

Passengers have also been asked to stay in contact with their airlines for updates regarding flight schedules, delays, or route changes.
