KARACHI – Residents in Karachi are facing gas load-shedding as Sui Southern Gas implements a revised supply schedule. Interruptions are affecting households and businesses across the city.
According to reports, gas will be unavailable from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and again from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Night-time shutdowns are also planned from 10:00 PM to 5:30 AM. Residents are urged to adjust their gas usage during these hours.
Neighborhoods most affected include F.B. Area, North Nazimabad, Malir, Khokhrapar, Landhi, Orangi Town, and North Karachi. Other areas facing intermittent outages include Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Nazimabad, Garden, and Liaquatabad.
Authorities at Sui Southern Gas said the schedule is necessary to manage supply shortages efficiently. They emphasized that gas services will resume according to the announced timings and advised users to plan cooking and industrial activities accordingly.
The current gas load-shedding is expected to continue until further notice. Residents report inconvenience in daily routines, including cooking, heating, and commercial operations. Businesses are particularly affected during peak working hours, leading to operational challenges.
Sui Southern Gas has also assured that emergency arrangements are in place for essential services and hospitals. Authorities request cooperation from the public to reduce pressure on the system during load-shedding periods.
