Sindh Minister Sharjeel Memon has affirmed that Karachi is on track to become a modern city, not only leading in Sindh but across Pakistan. He said the provincial government is prioritizing the cityโs development with dedicated efforts and significant investments.
Highlighting key initiatives, Memon stated that the government is working across infrastructure, education, healthcare, and transport to transform Karachi into a modern city. He emphasized that rapid progress is being made on major projects to improve urban life.
A total of Rs194 billion has been allocated to enhance roads and traffic networks. Major projects like the Shahrah-e-Bhutto Corridor, Malir River Bridge, and several underpasses and flyovers are underway. These initiatives aim to reduce congestion and ensure smoother urban mobility for residents.
Minister Memon added that several flagship projects are scheduled to begin by March, with strict monitoring to ensure quality and timely completion. Additionally, Rs300 billion has been earmarked for expanding nine DHQ hospitals, improving healthcare access across the city. Rs155.34 billion will be invested in the Red, Yellow, and Orange Line BRT projects, enhancing modern mass transit options for citizens.
The Sindh government is committed to providing residents with tangible improvements across all sectors. Efforts focus on sustainable infrastructure, quality education, accessible healthcare, safe housing, and efficient transport systems, with every investment aimed at the welfare of Karachiโs population.
Sharjeel Memon concluded that these initiatives will solidify Karachiโs status as a modern city, offering improved living standards, economic growth, and a better future for its residents.
