Karachi’s business community has announced the launch of a new airline, ‘Air Karachi,’ which has already been registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). During a media briefing, Hanif Goher, former Senior Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), shared key details about the venture.

Goher confirmed that a request for a licence has been sent to the federal government, with the airline expecting to receive approval in the coming days. In its first phase, ‘Air Karachi’ will lease three aircraft to begin operations. The airline is set to start with an investment of Rs5 billion, with each shareholder contributing Rs50 million.
Air Vice Marshal Imran, Southern Commander, has been appointed as the CEO of the airline, while prominent businessmen including Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, Arif Habib, and SM Tanveer will be shareholders. Other stakeholders include Bashir Jan Mohammad, Khalid Towab, Zubair Tufail, and Hamza Tabani.
