Pakistan Stands with Kashmir as Solidarity Day Observed Nationwide

Kashmir Solidarity Day is being observed today across Pakistan and in many countries worldwide. The day honors the courage, sacrifices, and resilience of the Kashmiri people living under occupation.

Every year, Kashmir Solidarity Day reminds the world of Pakistanโ€™s firm support for the right to self-determination of Kashmiris. The day reflects a national and collective commitment to stand with the oppressed people of the region.

Across Pakistan, various events are taking place to mark the occasion. These include rallies, seminars, conferences, and peaceful processions. Speakers at these events are highlighting the long-standing Kashmir issue before the international community. Citizens, civil society groups, and political leaders are participating actively.

A symbolic human chain is being formed at Kohala Bridge. This act represents unity and solidarity with the Kashmiri people. Similar activities are being held in major cities and towns. Pakistanis living abroad are also organizing events to raise awareness globally.

The human cost of the conflict remains severe. Over the last seven decades, more than six hundred thousand Kashmiris have lost their lives in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. In the past 34 years alone, over 96,000 people were martyred. Around 7,000 were killed while in custody. More than 100,000 children lost one or both parents.

The situation worsened after August 5, 2019. Since then, reports of violence and repression have increased. In the past five years, at least 966 Kashmiris were killed. More than 25,000 people were arrested. Thousands faced torture during detention. Even in January 2025, reports of killings and rights violations continued.

On Kashmir Solidarity Day, Pakistan once again declares that the Kashmiri struggle is its own struggle. Government officials and citizens have sent a clear message of unity. They stressed that Kashmiris are not alone in their demand for freedom and justice.
