Key Militant Leader Killed In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Operations

Sajjad, also known as Abu Zar, a key militant leader of the Khawarij network, was killed along with 22 other militants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Tuesday.

The operations were intelligence-driven and conducted on 16-17 November 2025. Security forces targeted militants belonging to the Indian proxy Fitna Al Khwarij in two separate engagements.

In Bajaur District, an intelligence-based operation led to the elimination of eleven Khawarij, including Sajjad, the key militant leader. Troops successfully engaged militant positions, ensuring no casualties among security forces.

Meanwhile, another operation in Bannu District neutralized twelve more Khawarij militants. Sanitization efforts continue in the area to remove any remaining foreign-sponsored militants.

These operations are part of a broader Counter-Terrorism campaign under the vision โ€œAzm-e-Istehkam,โ€ approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan. The campaign aims to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism across Pakistan.

Earlier, security forces conducted intelligence-based operations in Kulachi, Dera Ismail Khan District, and Datta Khel, North Waziristan. These actions resulted in the deaths of ten militants, including key militant leader Alam Mehsud, and five more militants in North Waziristan.

According to ISPR, all operations were carefully planned based on verified intelligence. Security forces continue to monitor and sanitize affected areas to prevent militant regrouping or cross-border infiltration.

Officials emphasized that these operations target both the leadership and operational cadres of foreign-backed militant groups. Eliminating key militant leaders is a critical step in weakening terrorist networks and maintaining stability in the region.

The military confirmed that the Counter-Terrorism campaign will continue at full pace, focusing on neutralizing threats posed by foreign-sponsored extremists and ensuring public safety across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other sensitive regions.
