The National Disaster Management Authority’s (NDMA) National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) has predicted increased rain, wind, and thunderstorms, with potential heavy downpours, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and Gilgit-Baltistan starting today.
The NDMA has issued a warning that these intense rains could lead to flash flooding in areas such as Murree, Galliyat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Nowshera, and Swabi.

Authorities have urged both agencies and the public to take precautionary measures to prevent flooding and landslides. Emergency Response Teams have been put on high alert and advised to mobilize resources for quick response to emergencies.
Tourists are recommended to avoid traveling to these areas during the forecasted period.
The public is advised to stay alert, follow local authority instructions, and use the ‘Pak NDMA Disaster Alert’ app for updates.
Additionally, the Indus River System Authority (IRSA) reported that the Tarbela Dam reached its maximum water conservation level of 1550 feet, with water releases and inflows of 380,400 and 417,000 cusecs, respectively.
The Mangla Dam’s water level was recorded at 1213.80 feet, with inflows and outflows of 25,800 and 10,000 cusecs. Water releases at Kalabagh, Taunsa, Guddu, and Sukkur were measured at 289,800, 380,200, 381,000, and 371,000 cusecs, respectively, with additional releases of 66,400 cusecs from the River Kabul at Nowshera and 45,400 cusecs from the River Chenab at Marala.
