The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has announced admissions for its Midwifery Training program. The initiative aims to prepare young women for careers in maternal and community healthcare across Karachi.
KMC has invited eligible female candidates to apply for the Community Midwifery Training Course. The program offers professional education and practical experience to help improve maternal and child healthcare services in the city.
Interested applicants can collect and submit admission forms from the principals’ offices of the respective midwifery schools during official working hours. The last date to submit applications is August 10, 2026.
The Midwifery Training program is being offered through five affiliated institutions across Karachi. These schools provide specialized education and practical learning for students interested in healthcare careers.
The participating institutions include the KMC Midwifery School in New Karachi, the CDGK Sartaj Bano School of Midwifery in Soldier Bazaar, the Khadijatul Kubra School of Midwifery in Pak Colony, the Gizri Maternity Home and School of Midwifery on Gizri Road, and the Sobhraj Maternity Hospital Midwifery School in Urdu Bazaar.
Students selected for the program will also receive clinical training at major healthcare facilities. These include Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Sobhraj Maternity Hospital, and Gizri Maternity Hospital.
KMC said the program is designed to provide both classroom education and practical hospital experience. This approach will help students develop the skills needed to support mothers and newborns in healthcare settings.
To apply, candidates must have passed Matriculation with at least 40 percent marks. Preference will be given to applicants with a Science background.
Applicants must also be between 15 and 35 years of age. They are required to possess a valid Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) and a Karachi domicile issued in Sindh.
The selection process will include a written examination followed by interviews. KMC has scheduled the written test for August 15, 2026, at 11:00 am at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Candidates who qualify for the written test will appear for interviews on August 20, 2026, at the same venue and time.
KMC encouraged eligible women to take advantage of this opportunity. The organization said the training can help participants build a stable and meaningful career in healthcare.
Officials also highlighted the growing need for skilled midwives in Pakistan. Trained professionals play an important role in improving maternal health, supporting safe childbirth, and reducing health risks for mothers and infants.
The corporation believes the program will strengthen community healthcare by preparing qualified midwives to serve families across Karachi. Graduates will be equipped with the knowledge and practical skills required to provide essential maternal and child healthcare services.
