Former senator and analyst Javed Jabbar addressed thousands of students at the ISPR Summer Camp 2026 in Islamabad, where he spoke about Pakistan’s history, national identity, and the importance of unity, sacrifice, and patriotism. His session focused on the country’s founding principles and encouraged young participants to contribute positively to Pakistan’s future.
The ISPR Summer Camp brought together more than 4,000 students from 18 stations across the country. The event provided participants with an opportunity to interact with experienced speakers and learn more about Pakistan’s history, culture, and national institutions.
During his address, Javed Jabbar described the creation of Pakistan as an extraordinary achievement. He said the country’s establishment transformed a long-held dream into reality through the visionary leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
He encouraged students to understand the sacrifices made during Pakistan’s creation and to appreciate the vision that guided the country’s independence. According to Jabbar, these values continue to shape Pakistan’s identity today.
Alongside his speech, Javed Jabbar also held an interactive session with the participants. Students were able to engage with him, ask questions, and discuss topics related to Pakistan’s development, national unity, and future challenges.
Speaking about the nation’s strengths, Jabbar said Pakistan enjoys a unique place in the world because of the intelligence, compassion, hospitality, and tolerance of its people. He noted that these qualities have helped build a distinct national identity that continues to unite citizens from different regions and backgrounds.
During the session, he also spoke about the Kashmir issue. Javed Jabbar said Pakistan has consistently supported the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination through its long-standing national policy.
He further highlighted the role of the Pakistan Army, saying that military officers serve alongside soldiers on the front lines during operations. He added that the Pakistan Army has one of the highest officer casualty rates compared to many armed forces around the world, reflecting the shared responsibilities of leadership during difficult situations.
Jabbar also discussed Pakistan’s early years after independence. He said the country faced limited financial and economic resources but succeeded in building a strong foundation through determination, resilience, and sacrifice.
The veteran analyst further emphasized Pakistan’s rich historical and cultural heritage. He explained that the country’s identity extends beyond the Indus Valley Civilization and also includes ancient civilizations such as Mehrgarh, which date back thousands of years and reflect the region’s long history.
The ISPR Summer Camp aims to provide students with educational experiences that strengthen their understanding of Pakistan’s history, culture, and national institutions. Through lectures, discussions, and interactive sessions, participants are encouraged to develop leadership qualities and a stronger sense of national responsibility.
