The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has announced that Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport will be closed daily from 5:00 AM to 8:00 AM between July 1 and September 15, 2025. The temporary closure is aimed at mitigating heightened bird activity during the monsoon season, which poses serious risks to aircraft operations.
The decision was finalized during a recent safety meeting held to address increased bird presence near the runway. Airlines, both domestic and international, have been directed to adjust their flight schedules accordingly, taking into account check-in availability, aircraft parking, and terminal lounge capacity.

The CAA stressed the importance of adhering to the new schedule to ensure safe and efficient operations and to minimize disruption for passengers during the affected hours.
Meanwhile, monsoon showers continued to cool down Lahore, bringing much-needed relief from the recent heat. Strong winds and consistent rain have lowered temperatures and improved weather conditions in various parts of the city.
In response, Lahore Commissioner Zaid Bin Maqsood has ordered all administrative departments to remain on high alert. Cleanup and drainage operations have been prioritized, with WASA and LWMC teams mobilized to manage rainwater and clear streets. Traffic police have also been instructed to maintain flow, especially during office rush hours.
