LAHORE: Lahore Traffic Police has announced a special traffic plan for August 13 and 14. The plan covers Independence Day events and August 14 Fireworks across the city.
Fireworks are scheduled at five major locations in Lahore. These include Greater Iqbal Park, Dolmen Mall Defence, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Adda Plot, and Liberty Market.
Musical programs are also planned at two locations. Liberty Market and H Block in Defence Phase 6 will host musical events during the celebrations.
Special Traffic Arrangements
Lahore Traffic Police has deployed additional officers for the Independence Day events. The arrangements are being supervised by three senior superintendents of police.
Sixteen deputy superintendents of police will also oversee traffic operations. Around 500 traffic inspectors have been deployed across different areas.
Officials will monitor roads near major celebration venues. They will also manage traffic flow around locations hosting August 14 Fireworks.
Special checkpoints will be established at 62 locations across Lahore. These checkpoints aim to prevent activities that could create traffic problems.
Police will focus on stopping wheelie riding and hooliganism. Officials will also take action against other activities that may disrupt public movement.
Traffic Police Issues Warning
Lahore Chief Traffic Officer Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi said road blockages would not be tolerated.
He also warned against road rage and activities that could interfere with traffic. Citizens have been urged to cooperate with traffic officials.
The traffic police advised residents to follow traffic rules during the celebrations. Authorities also encouraged citizens to enjoy the events responsibly.
The special arrangements are intended to keep roads moving during the busy Independence Day period. Officials will remain deployed around major venues throughout the scheduled events.
Fireworks Planned at Five Locations
The August 14 Fireworks will be held at five locations across Lahore. The selected venues are expected to attract large crowds.
Greater Iqbal Park is among the major locations included in the plan. Dolmen Mall Defence and Gulshan-e-Iqbal are also part of the schedule.
Fireworks will also take place at Adda Plot and Liberty Market. Citizens visiting these locations have been advised to follow police instructions.
Traffic officers will guide motorists and manage congestion near event locations. Drivers are encouraged to avoid unnecessary stops on busy roads.
