Lahore Announces a special traffic plan for August 13 and 14. The plan covers Independence Day celebrations across the city. Lahore Traffic Police has prepared arrangements for fireworks and musical programs.
Fireworks will be held at five major locations in Lahore. These locations include Greater Iqbal Park and Dolmen Mall Defence. Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Adda Plot and Liberty Market are also included.
Musical programs are planned at two locations during the celebrations. Liberty Market will host one musical event. Another program will take place at H Block in Defence Phase 6.
The traffic police has made special arrangements around all major event venues. Officials expect large crowds at several locations during the celebrations. The plan aims to keep traffic moving and prevent disruptions.
Traffic officers and personnel have been deployed across Lahore. The deployment will operate under the supervision of three senior superintendents of police. Sixteen deputy superintendents of police will also supervise the arrangements.
Around 500 traffic inspectors have been assigned for traffic management. Officials will monitor roads near celebration venues and other busy areas. They will also guide motorists and manage traffic flow.
Special checkpoints will be established at 62 locations across Lahore. These checkpoints will help prevent dangerous activities during Independence Day celebrations. Authorities will particularly target wheelie riding and hooliganism.
The traffic police will also take action against activities that can disrupt normal traffic. Officials have urged citizens to cooperate with traffic personnel. Motorists have been advised to follow traffic rules throughout the celebrations.
Lahore Chief Traffic Officer Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi said strict action would be taken against disruptions. He said authorities would not tolerate road blockages or road rage.
