Lahore authorities have announced major arrangements for Eidul Adha 2026. The city will host organized livestock sales through special arrangements. Officials confirmed the setup of five temporary cattle markets to facilitate citizens.
The Punjab Cattle Market Management Company (PCMMC) will manage these sites. These five temporary locations will support the buying and selling of sacrificial animals across the city. The initiative aims to reduce congestion and improve market management.
According to officials, Shahpur Kanjran will continue as a permanent model cattle market. Alongside it, five temporary sale points will be activated from May 13. These arrangements are specifically designed for the Eid season.
The selected sites include Saggian on 25 acres, Wahga Sports Complex on 50 acres, Barkee Road on 20 acres, LDA City on 65 acres, and Raiwind on 25 acres. Each of these five temporary markets will operate during the festive period.
Authorities said all necessary facilities will be provided at the sites. These include tents, drinking water, and awareness banners for visitors. The goal is to ensure a smooth and organized experience for buyers and sellers.
Security will also be a key focus. Punjab Police and Para Force personnel will be deployed at all five temporary markets. In addition, the Health Department, Rescue 1122, and Livestock Department will support operations.
Officials said these arrangements are part of a wider plan to manage Eid-related livestock trade. The five temporary markets are expected to reduce pressure on existing urban areas.
Meanwhile, similar preparations are also underway in Karachi. The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has been allowed to set up cattle markets at multiple locations. However, Lahore’s focus remains on its five temporary structured sites for better control and facilitation.
In Karachi, markets will be set up at several designated areas including North Karachi, Safari Park, and Gulistan-e-Johar. Additional sites will also be arranged on vacant plots in Lyari and Korangi.
Authorities believe that well-managed five temporary markets in Lahore will improve trade flow and public convenience. Citizens are encouraged to use these official points for safe and organized livestock purchasing ahead of Eidul Adha.
