Lahore Launches Safety Zones with Free Mobile Charging Facilities

Lahore has introduced free mobile charging stations at safety zones, enhancing public safety and convenience for residents.

Under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Punjab Safe Cities Authority launched this initiative to ensure citizens remain connected during emergencies.

The new safety zones offer four essential facilities in one location: a panic button, free Wi-Fi, emergency assistance, and free mobile charging. These measures aim to improve both security and convenience for city residents.

A Safe Cities spokesperson said the government plans to install these stations at 100 locations across Lahore. Currently, 30 stations are fully operational and already helping residents stay connected during critical situations.

The introduction of free mobile charging at safety zones allows citizens to maintain communication without worrying about phone battery levels during emergencies. Authorities highlighted that this initiative reflects Lahore’s commitment to becoming a model city for public safety.

Local residents have welcomed the move, stating that the stations not only enhance security but also provide peace of mind during commutes or public outings. Users can quickly recharge their phones while accessing emergency services and Wi-Fi.

Officials say the initiative will gradually expand to more locations across Lahore, making free mobile charging accessible to a larger portion of the population. This step is part of broader efforts to integrate technology into city safety measures.

Experts note that combining communication facilities, internet access, and emergency response tools in one station is a forward-thinking approach. It ensures residents are better prepared for unexpected situations.
